The Aurenere Project, acquired by Apollo Minerals in March 2018, is a tungsten and gold project located in northern Spain comprising an Investigation Permit application. Contiguous with the Couflens Project in neighbouring France, the Aurenere Project provides an extension of strike along a highly prospective corridor for tungsten and gold.
An initial reconnaissance field campaign carried out at the Project returned high grade gold (up to 33.90 g/t) and tungsten (up to 5.49% WO3) from rock samples. These results were reported to the market on 27 March 2018. For full results please click here.
The Company submitted its application for an Investigation Permit which includes plans for an initial drill program. The drill program is designed to test the Aurenere Prospect, an outcrop of approximately 100m2 of pyrrhotite rich skarn located at the contact between a granodiorite and carbonate-bearing sediments, which was mapped and systematically sampled in late 2017.
The Company was subsequently asked by the Department of Territory and Sustainability to submit an Ordinary Environmental Impact Assessment which is required to be completed prior to the award of the Investigation Permit.
The Company has formally requested input from the Spanish mining authorities on the scope for the Ordinary Environmental Impact Assessment and will then commence with the study. The Company will update the market on material progress with regards to the award of the Aurenere Investigation Permit.
