The Company is conducting the following brownfields work programs in and around the Salau mine:
Completed/underway:
A database of more than 650 historical drill holes has been digitised by Company geologists
3D models of the resource have been constructed, which have resulted in numerous gold and tungsten targets being identified
Completed an initial phase of health and safety risk assessments within the historical Salau mine, focused on geotechnical stability, air quality monitoring, ventilation tests and water quality. The tests confirmed excellent infrastructure servicing the historical mine and excellent ground conditions within competent granite or marble host rock
Commencement of environmental baseline studies
Restoration of mine services including ventilation
Ranking and prioritising the numerous identified priority exploration targets
Looking ahead:
- Completion of final phase of health and safety risk assessments
- Mapping and sampling within the Salau mine in order to verify the historical data for resource estimation purposes and generate additional exploration targets
- Drill programs to confirm known zones of mineralisation within the Salau mine area and to test for extensions of these zones
- Extensive in mine geophysics program to enhance understanding of geological structures
